Adding another display to your laptops or PC is a feature available on almost all the Windows platforms. This can be useful while giving presentations, showing slideshows, or sharing any desired content from PC on multiple displays. As nowadays Windows 10 and 8.1 are running in most of the PCs, here we will show you the steps to set up dual monitors on these versions. Setup of dual monitors in both the versions of Windows is almost similar with a few changes in the operation titles. You can even do it with just a tap of a key in some of the laptops like HP and others that may match the given criteria. So without further wait, let’s get started.

Once done, the PC will automatically detect the second monitor and the second screen will be displayed. You can set different options from the system setting or directly from the keyboard keys. Setup Dual Monitors Using Keyboard Keys

To set up dual monitors in Windows 10, 8.1, 8 and a few other versions you can use a single command key. Most of the laptops like HP have a dedicated key on the function key F4 with a display icon on it. By pressing it, the panel for selecting the options for projecting display on the second screen will open. If you have laptops other than HP then you can search for the same display icon in the function number keys. It may or may not be available for every laptop and in case it’s not here then you can use the second keyboard shortcut.

This keyboard shortcut will work with almost any version of Windows like 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, whether laptop or desktops. From the keyboard press Windows key+P, this will again open the side panel where the options for display output will be shown. Select the desired one and you will be able to see the change in the additional display.
